The Desolation of Devil's Acre by Ransom Riggs

The absolute conclusion to "Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children." All the characters from 6 novels have gathered together to make the final push to see this story arc put to bed. And was it ever so wonderful to shine some limelight on all the other peculiars besides Jacob and Emma.

While this is an absolute  conclusion to the series, I do love that just like in life a story never truly ends. We could always come back to the world of the peculiar, and the happiest news is that we would have a whole new playground of antagonists to deal with.

I think that is where the series had been getting a little stale in books 4 and 5. Dealing with Caul had become a little mundane along with the tertiary plot points not really filling out the drama quite right. The awkward teen romances were just not adding to the series in any meaningful way; more word count distraction than character development.

The redeeming quality to the series came with this book. The romance has dropped (mostly) off the map as we get to see the stunning peculiar abilities of all of Miss Peregrine's wards. There are some very nice twists and unexpected deception. We even get an epilogue once the fires have been out. A truly excellent end to a truly peculiar series.
