The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross

I read the prequel to this novel ages ago. I liked it well enough, but lost track of the series when Netgalley declined my request. Now that I'm working at the library, and digging up that old, dreaded declined list, I found "The Steampunk Chronicles" again.
The story of Finley Jane and her new family was excellently intriguing. I found the vast dialects entertaining in my mind; it really set each character apart as they had an individual voice inside my head.
Despite my abhorrence of love triangles, when you base your main character after Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, it makes sense. Plus, Jack Dandy is just absolutely the best fit for Finley's Hyde personality. I'm not sold on Griffin yet.
The mystery portion of the book was obvious, but it wasn't the worst I've come across. The action of the story and the characters more than made up for the subpar plot. I've already requested the next in the series from my library.
