United As One by Pittacus Lore
What a conclusion. The entire story was quite succinctly wrapped up and even has an epilogue quaintly taking place one year later in order to set up the next series of books. While the ending was quite cliche, there was certainly no lack of action getting there, and the pages absolutely flew by.
John has nothing left to lose and is going to take on the end of the world with the reckless abandonment to match. The body count is getting high in the Mogadorian-Loric war, and John does want to add one more to the total. He is going to take down Setrakus Ra all by himself.
Except none of his friends think that is in an acceptable solution. This is a fight that will take more than one man to solve. For all the good twists and turns, I did kind of laugh out loud at the ending. As I mentioned, it was ridiculously cliche.
I may have zero interest in moving on to the next series of books, but I at least found the final books better than the middle and a fairly fast read.
