Traveler by Arwen Elys Dayton (Part 2)

Another in my endeavor to reread everything on my bookshelf that did not disappoint. Seeker had remained as fresh for the young adult genre five years later, and Traveler has stood the test of time (and developing mindset) as well. My opinions haven't changed from what I said back in 2016. Our teenage protagonists have been flung from the nest and are making their own adult decisions. And they have already made plenty of decisions to regret until they can atone. Impressive.

This is a book of healing. Of coming to terms with the path you have chosen when it isn't what you expected. Of setting your world back into balance. These novels are just so endearing to me. Though they still give me the absolute creeps, and I can't read them before sleeping.

Though there is a heaping of hope, Nott, the Watchers, and the Middle Dread permeate the story in darkness. Plots buried deep reveal how far and how long they can wait to ensnare. But the part I noticed most this time reading was Catherine's story and the history of the focal.
