In Pursuit of My Own Library

A weekend of rainy days and spider bites; I spent the entire time curled up with some of my favorite books. I am sad to see the series come to a close but excited there is a follow up series. Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama       Fantastic place to end the childhood of our Dragon Ball heroes. The story could potentially end here, but I am so happy that it continues on for some more laughs, hardships, and great life lessons. As usual, I am glad for the animated series, because some of my favorite "episodes" occur outside of the manga in the regular day-to-day life of Goku and Chi Chi. The development of their union was a great bonus of the TV series. (Side note: They probably added those shows to make the fandom a little more dual gendered. I certainly don't mind the manga series for all the fighting but like to see a little more presence of the female characters.) Here is to a different type of entertainment!

I took advantage of the full sun and cool breezes this weekend. After thoroughly scrubbing the deck to be rid of the ever present pollen, I set up camp to watch my puppies enjoy the warming weather in their new expansive (and own, germ free) backyard and read some good laughs. It was better than I ever could have hoped. Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama       Not much to review. The story continues on and I continue to love it. The Dragon Ball universe is amazing. There are many fantastic lessons about life and our place in it. While I read it for laid back entertainment, I hold great value with this series and would highly recommend everyone take the time to read it. They are short and quick reads, no excuses not to pick it up (even if you aren't a reader).

Back to some good humored fun to alleviate some of the horrors that come with moving into my very first house. Brings a whole new meaning to "move-in ready."  Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama       The adventure of Son Goku continues to make me smile. I am continuously amazed at how close the TV series stays true to the manga. I enjoy the pacing of some of the fighting a little better in the manga, but also I enjoy the added scenes with Tao and Korin in the TV series. It certainly is amazing at how things can be lost in translation as almost every secondary character name has been changed.  Here is to more unpacking and more Dragon Ball !

Packing, moving, and unpacking took more of my time than I anticipated. I really need to get better with juggling my life for my ultimate dream, goal plan. It seemed like a never ending to-do list that just over powered my reading list. However, I did manage to scramble in some hours and finish one of the lengthier intellectual manuscripts I've read.  I will add this to my list of books everyone should read at minimum once in their lifetime. We really need to work on our world perspective and revisit the history lessons we have learned. I find the only plus to this information age we have right now to be the ability to get the story from all the sides instead of the tyrannical victors as in the past. Moved into the new house! Once again, as non-essential items, all of my books are packed away. First in, last out, boo! For now so I am making very slow progress on my goal of 75 books. It is sad to stare at my empty bookshelves, but exciting to anticipate their new location at the "library" I am hoping to set up at my house. Continuing on with my mangas. Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama          The first two mangas seemed to have some slight changes that were probably made for the "sensitive" American TV audience. They would have been funny anecdotes to leave in the series but certainly did not hurt the story line by changing them. The next four mangas seemed to leap right out of the TV themselves. The story line is true and every panel shows up almost word for word. The additions to flesh out the 20 minute episodes transition smoothly with Toriyama's Dragon Ball. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading these while packing up the household goods. They are a hea
